This is where I find myself this lovely morning: flat on my back, staring at the unfinished painting in the dining room. I’m lying in the living room on my yoga mat in my version of the Happy Baby pose; except my version involves a grimace and some tears. From the intense pain in my back and hip, and the pain radiating down my left leg, I would hazard a guess that I’ve slipped a disk or fractured a hip or something. I’ve been gone a long while. I’ll tell you about it sometime. Good news: the painting is still not done. Better news: it’s very comforting from down here on the floor. It helps me to know I’m home–untouched up moulding and all. Also, I realize I don’t have my contacts on, so everything takes on that fuzzy dreamlike quality I so adore.
